Calendar invites for Events, and Outlook Calendar support
Assign an Event and it lands in your learners' calendars, with no setup asked of them.
Events in SuperPath track any learning that happens on a date, in person or virtual. A training day, compliance training, a conference, or a coaching session. Until now, assigning an Event sent your learners an email, but nothing reached their calendar unless they had connected one themselves. Most never did.
That changes with two upgrades shipping together.
Send calendar invites from your Events
There is now a Send calendar invite toggle on the Event's Details tab. Switch it on, save, and everyone assigned to that Event receives a real calendar invitation, the same as any other meeting in their working day. They can accept, decline or answer maybe. Nothing is asked of them, and they do not need to connect anything to SuperPath.

The invitation comes from the Event owner's own calendar, so your learners see a name they recognise as the organiser. From that point the calendar entry looks after itself:
- Assign someone new and they receive an invitation.
- Change the date, time, location or details and every attendee's calendar updates.
- Unassign someone and the entry is cancelled in their calendar.
Learners who register for an Event themselves from the Library are included too.
Connect Outlook Calendar
Outlook Calendar is now supported alongside Google Calendar, which closes a long standing gap for organisations on Microsoft 365. It works with work, school and personal Microsoft accounts.

You connect a calendar on your own profile, under the Settings tab, and the same screen is where you disconnect it again. This is a personal connection, not an organisation wide integration, so each person manages their own.
Connecting your own calendar still does what it always has: your assigned learning Events appear in your calendar automatically. What is new is that Outlook users can now do this at all.
Worth knowing
- Invites are off by default. A new Event starts with the toggle off. Turn it on in the Event editor once the Event is created.
- The Event owner needs a connected calendar, because the invitation is sent from their account. Until they connect one, the toggle cannot be switched on, and the tooltip tells you whose calendar is missing.
- One calendar at a time. You connect either Google or Outlook, not both.
- No duplicates. If a learner has connected their own calendar, they receive the invitation rather than a second copy of the same Event.
- Accepting an invitation is not attendance. Responses sit on the Event owner's calendar. Attendance is still recorded in SuperPath the way it always has been.
- Disconnecting stops invites. If you own Events that send invites and you disconnect your calendar, those invites stop going out. The confirmation dialog tells you how many Events are affected before you confirm.
Where to find it
The toggle is on the Event, under the Details tab, just below the date and time. Calendar connections live on your profile, under Settings.
